National Service with Housing Action Illinois
Housing Action Illinois manages a network of up to 30 full-year AmeriCorps Members and 30+ AmeriCorps Summer Associates placed with our member organizations around the state. These individuals are part of the AmeriCorps VISTA program, a national service program designed specifically to end poverty. Our AmeriCorps Members and Summer Associates fill a wide variety of roles, but all are aimed at helping our communities thrive. We’re very proud of what our current and past AmeriCorps Members have accomplished.
Host an AmeriCorps Member
Host site applications for both full-year and summer positions are now available! These applications are due January 29, 2021. To learn more and find out if hosting an AmeriCorps position might be a good fit for your organization, please email our AmeriCorps Leaders.

Apply Today to Serve as an AmeriCorps Member in Our Network
We are not currently accepting applications to serve as a full-year AmeriCorps Members or Summer Associate. We will start formally accepting applications in March 2021 for positions that will start in June, July, and August. Eager applicants may reach out to our national service team to submit resumes and cover letters for our review and consideration for the program in general before March 2021.

The AmeriCorps VISTA Program is a national service program designed specifically to end poverty, and our full-year AmeriCorps Members commit to serve communities across Illinois full-time for a year. They fill a wide variety of roles, but all are aimed at ending poverty and helping communities by expanding and improving the availability of decent, affordable, accessible housing in Illinois.
