Jeremy Cowart

Jeremy Cowart (he/him) joined Housing Action Illinois as a VISTA Leader in October 2021. Jeremy comes to Housing Action Illinois with extensive experience serving unhoused youth throughout Chicago as a case manager and outreach specialist, as well as having a foundational education in Public Health at UIC. His years in direct service have given him great insight into the cyclical nature of homelessness, and the emergent need for housing justice. He intends to use his year of service to advance his career in nonprofit development, grant writing and fundraising. As a VISTA Leader, Jeremy is looking forward to strengthening partnerships with our member organizations at Housing Action Illinois, as well as supporting AmeriCorps members throughout his year of service.
