On the heels of President Obama’s budget proposal, Governor Quinn is releasing his FY 2013 state budget proposal.
On Thursday, February 23 at 10 a.m. Housing Action Illinois will be hosting a webinar summarizing the federal and state budget proposals as they impact affordable housing and homelessness. At the federal level, key programs we’ll discuss are HOME, McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Grants and Housing Counseling. State programs we’ll focus on include Homeless Prevention, Emergency and Transitional Housing and Supportive Housing Services.
In addition to the information provided, we’ll suggest ways that individuals and organizations can get involved in advocacy responding to the proposals. At both the federal and state level, we are concerned that overall there will be significant cuts to programs that meet basic human needs.
