Hoda Fakhari

Hoda Fakhari joined Housing Action Illinois as a Communications and Development VISTA in July 2018. She earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and B.A. in English with a concentration in media, rhetoric, and cultural studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). During her time at UIC, she worked as a laboratory research assistant in the biological and physical sciences. Hoda also held writing internships at UIC News and The Key Reporter and served as co-Editor-in-Chief of the university’s undergraduate literary and arts magazine, Red Shoes Review. Broadly speaking, she is interested in making connections between disciplines that appear uncomplimentary in order to arrive at more diverse and relevant ways of understanding people and society.
