Upcoming Trainings

Counseling Clients with Student Loans (August 6 – 7, Webinar Series)

During this two-day virtual training, we will discuss how to help clients weighed down by student loan debt or families trying to decide whether to take out loans for a child’s college education. Since housing counselors see families before they take out loans, as well as clients currently paying off major debt, they are ideally positioned to provide valuable guidance to students and parents. We will discuss options for paying for higher education, such as loans and grants available; repayment options; expenses beyond tuition; and budgeting while paying off loans. We will also explore the ways that student loans affect homeownership options.

Note: This training was originally planned as an in-person training, but has been converted to an online training due to COVID-19.

$100 | Two sessions each day – 10:30 am – 12:00 pm & 1:30 – 3:00 pm  |  Register (Note: Registration works best when using Google Chrome or Firefox as your web browser)
