Erana Jackson

Erana_JacksonErana Jackson joined Housing Action Illinois as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader in July 2019. Previously, she worked as a Housing Organizer in the Bronzeville community and served as a Housing VISTA in the Englewood community. Erana also has a background in education work. She served as a Local School Council (LSC) Chairperson at the former Betsy Ross Elementary School for four years and was the Recording Secretary for the 8th District Local School Advisory Council for two years. As a VISTA Leader, Erana is looking forward to building a community that promotes leadership, professional development, and collaboration.

Erana was born on the west side of Chicago in the ABLA Homes at 13th and Loomis. She was raised on the south side of Chicago at 47th and Cottage Grove. She has been involved in community organizing throughout her life.
