Amina Farha (she/her) is the Development Associate at Housing Action Illinois. Her work is focused on resource development efforts, including government, corporate, and foundation grants, as well as individual donations, special events, membership, and communications. She first joined the Housing Action team in July 2019 as a Membership and Development VISTA. Previously, she was a freelance writer and editor. She has also worked in real estate as a leasing agent.
Amina earned her B.A. at the University of Michigan, where she studied film—focusing on documentary for social change—and biopsychology. During her time at the University of Michigan, she was a News Staff Writer for The Michigan Daily, and served on the executive board of the Film and Video Student Association. Amina has also earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Manegement from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
