Housing Action Illinois joined with a group of 39 allies, including community organizations and state officials, to urge federal banking regulators to use the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) as a tool to address structural racism embedded in the financial system.
In a letter sent to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors on June 5, the signatories call on the regulators to strengthen CRA to help rebuild economically vibrant communities where all people can prosper.
